The purpose of the Career Expo was to expose the rural youth to various career path opportunities which will in turn motivate them and contribute towards addressing the current unemployment areas. The Rural Development Career Awareness Expo’s serves excellent youth empowerment initiative and information sharing platform for private companies as well as tertiary Institutions.
Rural development is the process of improving the quality of life and economic of people living in rural areas, often relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas.

Rural development implies both the economic betterment of people as well as greater social transformation. In order to provide the rural people with better prospects for economic development, increased participation of people in the rural development programmes, decentralization of planning, better enforcement of land reforms and greater access to credit are needed.
Investments in environmental protection, rural infrastructure and in rural health and education are critical to sustainable rural development and can enhance national well-being. Beyond meeting basic needs, investments must be linked to the potential to raise productivity and income.
